My dog breath stinks
Q: My dogs, pal, mollie & sadie breaths stinks what can i do. i already try the breath tablets ain't working help please.
A: Any pet with bad breath should be examined by a veterinarian, unless you know it is caused by something the pet ate. some causes of bad breath can cause severe and even fatal complications, if not treated promptly.

Pedigree denta stix
Q: Hi: i have noticed that after i give my two dogs this product their stool comes out soft and watery with a mucus lining on it. have you heard anything about this product good or bad? the other pedigree dental product is too hard for my dogs to chew. thx barbara
A: They are likely allergic to one of ingredients in this product. i have no experience with these product lines

Cat mange
Q: Is it possible for cats to have mange? my cat seems to be losing weight and has sores on its body.
A: Cats do get mange although not as common as in dogs. allergies and autoimmune skin problems are much more common. your cat needs exam and workup by vet to sort out possible causes

Ticks
Q: What is the best or correct way to remove ticks from my dog i've heard to burn them off thanks
A: You can use a medium sized flat tweezer, or a gadget sold to remove them. grasp the tick around the head area being careful not to crush it, and slowly pull it out. treat the wound and surrounding area with an antiseptic.
Shop for: tick

Ear mites
Q: Will vinegar and water kill ear mites. or will peroxide. i am very broke and can't afford to buy medicine. thanks so much
A: None of these work real well. i would see section in dr. pitcairns book, dr. pitcairns guide to natural health for dogs and cats by richard pitcairn, dvm. can get at book store or library.
Shop for: ear mites

Gasping for air
Q: I have a 6 month old min-pin alot of times wether he is playing with his younger brother or not he starts what looks like gasping for air his chest gose in and out very quickly i dont know if dogs get ahsma but thats what it looks like he also get like this with perfume any strong odor.please help me hes my life : )
A: Could be allergic respiratory issue or perhaps reverse sneeze syndrome of dogs, which is common and harmless. |only your vet and exam can sort these out for you

Possible arthritis
Q: My cat is 13 years old, and overweight. he probably weighs 20 lbs. he's been having trouble getting up on the furniture. i thought it was kind of funny, but recently he must have fell from a countertop or some place. it's like he has no control over his back legs. although he has gotten better. i've been really babying him, making sure he doesn't jump off the couch or go up and down the stairs that much. but still when he runs at full speed his back end will go almost sideways, like he lost control of his back legs. i was looking at that cosequin or joint flexor. what would you recommend?
A: Try cosequin from 1800petmeds as well as give him extra antioxidant vitamins like vitamin c in form of ester c at dose of 250 mg twice daily as well as vitamin e at dose of 100iu daily and cod liver oil 1/4 teaspoon added to food daily as well as prozyme from 1800pemeds to each meal
Shop for: vitamin, prozyme, 1800petmeds

Ear mites
Q: I have a registered two yr.old boston rat terrior . she has ear mites really bad in both ears. she will not let me put medicine in her ears for this. is there something i can get to put on back of neck that will cure this? i hear you can get revolutions for ear mites & heart worm to be applied on back of neck, but she gets the heart worm shot every six months & i dont want to do that. i am just looking for something for ear mites only to be applied to back of neck. thank you i hope you can help me
A: Only product i know that you ask about is revolution. however i would take to vet as ear mites are not that common in dogs this age. could be yeast infection or bacterial infection in ears
Shop for: ear mites, revolution
